A local church was holding a school supply drive, this weekend, when some of the supplies they collected were stolen.

The Harvest Center Church has been collecting school supplies for more than a week to give back to children in their community that may be in need.

Saturday night, the last thing they expected happened.

While church members were holding a prayer for this upcoming school year, a man went into the church building where the supplies were held and stole about half of what was there.

Ministers say they will not press charges or try to find him. Instead, they’re doing something else.

Shavonda Martin (Youth minister):

“We’re praying for the person. We’re praying for the brother, that he would come to know Jesus. Whatever’s going on within him. we pray that whatever he did take will bless him or bless someone else.”

They encourage anyone who may be in need of school supplies for their children to head over to the church.

Also, if you’re able to donate any supplies, they’d gladly take them until August 7th.
