A Texas man’s hilarious obituary proved he was a hardcore Cowboys fan until the very end.

Robert Clyde Drew, from Wichita Falls, died on Jan. 25 at the age of 86. According to his obituary, Robert’s family said he died “mainly, we suspect, to prevent himself from having to watch the Patriots and Eagles in the Super Bowl.”

According to his family, the loyal Cowboys fan “died peacefully with his daughter by his side, knowing full well that Dez, did, in fact, catch the ball.”

The Dez Bryant play the obituary referred to was a January 2015 playwhere the Cowboys receiver caught a ball that would have put Dallas one step closer to returning to the NFC Championship. Officials called the catch back, saying Bryant lost control of the ball as he hit the ground.

It’s a play that continues to haunt the Cowboys faithful, like Robert.

His family’s biting humor didn’t stop when it came to football. The beloved great-grandfather was also a Taco Bell aficionado and a connoisseur of breakfast joints.

A swell man to the very end. Godspeed, Robert.
