BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB)- A Baton Rouge man is accused of accepting an offer to kill a female, according to arrest warrant documents.

Shykeem Tyshawn McNeal, 27, was arrested and faces a count of conspiring to commit first degree murder, police said.

According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, McNeal was arrested and booked Thursday.

On May 15, authorities started their investigation after another man, Dasmon Franklin, was arrested for multiple firearms and narcotics-related offenses, according to the documents.

While Franklin was being taken to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, Franklin allegedly made statements that he suspected a female had contacted law enforcement about his illegal activities, the document reported.

Authorities started to monitor Franklin’s phone calls in the prison. On the same day, Franklin called McNeal from the parish prison. McNeal’s arrest warrant reported him to be “extremely violent” and had been arrested in connection to a murder during the 2016 historic flooding

During the call with McNeal, Franklin offered him $5,000 to kill the female, the arrest warrant stated.

“You know I can do that on the love. Just bless me,” McNeal reportedly said in response to Franklin’s offer.

After further investigation, law enforcement said McNeal’s response was him accepting the offer. Authorities were able to route the call to McNeal.

He was arrested and booked into the parish prison on Thursday.
