There is a lot to breakdown from the New Orleans Saints 31-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night’s Thanksgiving Day Football Game.
Saints QB Drew Brees threw for four touchdowns, and was 15-of-22 for 171 yards. The four TDs went to four different receivers. First, to Tommy Lee Lewis for a 7-Nothing lead. Then, to Austin Carr who was all alone in the endzone.
Brees continued the passing barrage by hitting tight end Dan Arnold on a beautiful route in which Arnold reached out and made a spectacular catch over the defender on his hip pocket.
The final touchdown of the night went to rookie wide out Keith Kirkwood.
Those were the scores, but the defense made Atlanta QB Matt Ryan’s life a nightmare sacking the Falcon signal caller six times, and forcing four turnovers.
New Orleans has now won 10 straight since losing the season opener to Tampa Bay. Next up for the Black and Gold; the Dallas Cowboys next Thursday night at Jerry’s World.
