BREAUX BRIDGE, La. (KLFY)- The St. Martin Parish School Board terminated Superintendent Lottie Beebe’s contract during its meeting Wednesday night.

Allen Blanchard, the Director of Operations and Human Capital for the St. Martin Parish School Board, has been named acting superintendent.

This after board members, in a 6-4 vote Wednesday evening, terminated the contract of Superintendent Lottie Beebe who had been in the position since 2013.

Beebe’s contract was up for discussion and action by the board during the regular meeting, after she had been on a month-to-month basis since December of 2017.

Sources tell News 10 that School Board members were not happy with the progress being made in the district.

Blanchard will assume the role effective immediately.

“Im gonna show up tomorrow morning and speak the staff.” Blanchard said.

He  says he felt like Harry Truman when Franklin Roosevelt died.

“You know just some of the comments he made at that time, you know about being hit so suddenly with that type of thing,” he said.

He started out 28 years ago in St. Martin Parish as a teacher and has held numerous roles.
Most recently he’s been Personnel Director and Director of Operations, over Maintenance and Transportation.

“The directive is going to be that they are going to continue doing their jobs. I don’t intend on doing any drastic changes. The school year’s already rolling, we have policies and procedures in place, and everybody’s going to be expected to continue doing their jobs,” said Blanchard.

Beebe says she has hired a lawyer.

News 10 tried to speak with multiple School Board members on camera after the meeting, but they declined to speak with us.
