ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (KLFY)- St. Martinville Mayor Melinda Narcisse Mitchell confirmed that the city’s police chief, Ricky Martin, has been suspended.
Mitchell’s two-day suspension is due to “inappropriate language” the mayor said.
Mayor Mitchell tells News 10 the city council will discuss Martin’s suspension at the next meeting on August 20. At that time, the mayor says the council will decide when the police chief will severe out his two-day suspension.
Martin was appointed chief in December under former Mayor Thomas Nelson. News 10 reached out to Martin who said he would not comment on the matter.
