ORIGINAL: I-10 W is partially closed at I-49 due to an accident.
According to http://lafayette911.org/, Lafayette Police and Fire officials are responding to the incident.
Traffic remains congested, and drivers are advised to find alternate routes.
The left lane has opened leaving the right lane blocked I-10 West at I-10/I-49 for vehicle recovery operations. Congestion is 6 miles in length.
