According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 41 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Michael Hawkins, 54, 1424 Live Oak Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on April 8, 2015 at 1:18 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft of goods (over $1,500). A deputy located Hawkins at a business in Siracusaville on the warrant. No bail is set.
Juvenile male, 15, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on April 8, 2015 at 2:38 pm for ungovernable juvenile and simple criminal damage to property (under $500). A deputy investigating a complaint of an ungovernable juvenile at a residence in Bayou Vista learned that the 15 year old threw a set of keys to the floor shattering a key fob. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Jermaine Keys, 39, 131 Aucoin Road, Amelia, LA was arrested on April 8, 2015 at 3:24 pm on a warrant for unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, simple criminal damage to property, and theft. On April 7, 2015 a deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance outside of a residence in Amelia. The deputy made contact with Keys and instructed him to not return to the residence. Early the following morning, the deputy responded to a second complaint at the home. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Keys kicked a door open and stole a female victim’s purse. The deputy obtained a warrant for Keys’ arrest. A BOLO (be on the lookout) bulletin was issued. Keys was located by the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office on the warrant and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. No bail is set.
Kenneth R. Hamilton, 27, 143 Bayou Boeuf Street, Amelia, LA was arrested on April 8, 2015 at 3:46 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of resisting an officer with force or violence, simple criminal damage to property, battery of a police officer, and disturbing the peace by appearing in an intoxicated condition. Hamilton was being booked into the parish jail when a deputy located the active warrant for his arrest. No bail is set.
According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
Jerry Landerman, 47, 20189 Hwy 182 Jeanerette, LA was arrested on April 8, 2015 at 6:53 pm for the following violations:
– General speed law
– Open alcoholic container in a motor vehicle
– Possession of marijuana
– Possession of drug paraphernalia
– Violation drug free zone (school)
– Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile
Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division were traveling east on Highway 182 in the Centerville area when a vehicle, driven by Landerman, passed their unit travelling in excess of 70 mph in a posted 55 mph zone. Detectives conducted a traffic stop and made contact with Landerman and a 13 year old juvenile who was also in the vehicle. While speaking to Landerman, detectives observed an open alcoholic beverage inside the vehicle. As the investigation progressed, marijuana, a grinder, and several marijuana cigarettes were located in the vehicle. Detectives developed information that Landerman possessed additional illegal drugs at his residence. Continuing the investigation there, detectives located marijuana cigarettes.

George Laws, age 57, 651 Baget St., Opelousas, LA, aggravated second degree battery.
Jonah Michael Taylor, age 34, 195 Ranch Rd., Opelousas, LA, simple battery involving domestic violence.

The Franklin Police Department responded to 5 complaints over the past 24 hours and made the following arrests:
4/8/15 @ 10:26 AM, Christopher Hebert, 37, of Rabbit Patch Ln., Iota, LA, was arrested and charged with Obscenity and Careless Operation. Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle on entering Franklin was doing obscene sexual actions while driving. The vehicle stopped at a business on Hwy. 3211. Hebert was processed and released on a $16,500.00 bond.
4/9/15 @ 6:09 AM, Clayton Tardy Jr., 54, of Julivet St., Franklin, LA, was arrested on a warrant for Third Ward City Court for Failure to Appear on the charges of No Insurance and No Driver’s License. Tardy was processed and held on a $360.00 cash bond.
