BROUSSARD, La. (KLFY)— The Broussard Police will host their 33rd annual “National Night Out on Crime and Drug Prevention”.

The event will be held on Oct. 4 in the Albertson’s parking lot in Broussard beginning at 5 p.m.

According to a news release, the Broussard PD hold the annual event to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, strengthen police & community partnerships, and send a message that crime will not be tolerated.

Chief Decou said the event will be filled with fun events such as a fun jump, face painting, airbrush tattoos, balloon shaping, food & refreshments, a DJ, and more. He added that two lucky kids will win a brand new bicycle.

While walking around the event grounds you will be able to meet your local emergency services personal along with McGruff the crime dog as well as Safety Pup.

The entire Broussard Police Department will be in attendance as well as representatives from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Broussard Fire Department, Louisiana State Police and Acadian Ambulance.

Decou encourages everyone to come and join the festivities and to “take a stand against crime”.
