A Calcasieu Parish woman was taken into custody and is being charged with cruelty to the infirmed.
32 year old Miracle Chatman was arrested last week after Calcasieu Parish Sex Crimes detectives responded to a home on S. Franklin Street in Lake Charles in reference to a 17 year old boy with medical issues.
Detectives say the teen was extremely thin and appeared to be malnourished.
He was transported to the hospital and placed into ICU.
A search of the residence, according to detectives, revealed unused medications that were prescribed to the boy.
During her initial arrest, detectives say Chatman resisted and committed a battery on two detectives.
In addition to her charge of cruelty to the infirmed, she faces 2 counts of battery on a police officer.
An investigation is on-going.
