The Carencro Middle School choir performed at a state competition early Wednesday.

Choir Director Juanita Hall says she first recognized how talented these young people are when they were in the sixth grade. During a district competition last month, they received superior scores. The students performed in front of four judges on Wednesday afternoon to gain a respectable score. Choirs and bands throughout the state will perform over the next few days for the chance at a superior rating.

The Carencro High band will also be going to state on Friday.
