Fire officials say an early morning fire destroyed the Little Zorah Baptist Church in New Iberia Monday morning.
Authorities were alerted to the three alarm blaze on the corner of Old Jeanerette Road at Cotton Street just after 3 A.M. Monday morning.
More than 30 firefighters from several agencies responded to the scene.
Officials say no one was inside the building when the fire broke out. A church member at the scene said everyone should have left the church after services last night around 9 P.M.
Officials have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
