A former Scott police officer was terminated and arrested after misconduct on the job.

Larry Williams had been employed with the Scott Police Department since March of 2009. Chief Chad Leger says a random audit on the fuel services within the department, lead to the discovery of the misuse of funds that are dedicated to patrol units. The investigation revealed Williams’ access card was being used to supply over $3,500 in gas for his personal vehicle and his wife’s.

Leger says after the internal investigation Williams confessed to his crime. He was terminated on June 12th of this year. On Wednesday, Williams was arrested and charged with malfeasance in office and unauthorized use of an access card.
