Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard and Ascension Parish Sheriff Bobby Webre provided an update on the manhunt for 21-year-old Dakota Theriot, a suspect wanted for killing his parents, his girlfriend, her father and her brother.
UPDATE: Suspect accused of killing five is in custody
Sheriff Webre revealed Theriot is still on the loose and considered to be armed and dangerous. He is believed to be traveling east in a grey 2004 Dodge Pick Up truck with an LSU sticker on the back. The truck has a Louisiana license plate with the number C583809. The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s office provided a more recent picture of the suspect.

He also has a cross tattoo on his chest and a yin and yang tattoo on his inner forearm. He was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt, jeans and tennis shoes.

During the news conference Saturday night, Sheriff Ard and Sheriff Webre revealed there were no red flags and a motive is still unclear.
We learned that Theriot was dating Summer Ernest, one of the victims killed in the Livingston Parish home. Her father, 43-year-old Billy Ernest and her younger brother 18-year-old Tanner Ernest were also killed.
Sheriff Ard revealed two other children were in the Livingston Parish home at the time of the shootings. The 7-year-old child and the 1-year-old child are both safe and with their mother right now.
Theriot is also accused of killing his parents, 50-year-olds Keith and Elizabeth Theriot. They were found dead in their home on Chuchpoint Street in Ascension Parish.
Sheriff Webre said investigators have been getting tips that they will continue to check out. Anyone with information on Theriot’s whereabouts is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 344-STOP.
