LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Police are searching for two suspects who allegedly fled the scene of an armed robbery late Tuesday night.
Corporal Paul Mouton said a 20-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint around 10 p.m. by a “black male suspect wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.”
It happened as she was walking in the 500 block of General Mouton Avenue.
The woman was not injured in the robbery but her purse and phone were taken.
A responding Lafayette Police officer saw a “black male meeting the description of the suspect,” get into the back of a white four-door Honda Civic, according to Mouton.
The officer pursued the car with assistance from the Broussard Police Department and the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The three suspects that were in the vehicle abandoned the car in Broussard.
Authorities arrested the driver of the car but the two other suspects were able to escape the scene.
The driver, Michael Moore, 28, of Broussard, was charged with principal to armed robbery and aggravated flight from an officer.
