LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) – Lafayette police probing the death of an 18-year-old, who was killed Friday on Interstate 10, are asking anyone with information on his activities that night to come forward.
Cpl. Paul Mouton tells The Advocate Grant Ingram’s body was already lying on I-10 when he was struck by a vehicle around 1:45 a.m. Friday.
Mouton says the University of Louisiana at Lafayette student had been hit “more than once” before a woman reported striking his body in the roadway.
He says police determined Ingram was hit while trying to cross the westbound lane of I-10, but the details surrounding his death end there.
Mouton says investigators are still trying to figure out what he was doing prior to the accident.
