(The Daily Advertiser) – The Lafayette Police Department, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Lafayette Fire Department will be hosting the annual National Night Out Tuesday night at the Martin Luther King Center in Lafayette.
National Night Out is a nationwide crime prevention event designed to heighten awareness for crime and drug prevention and generate support for local anti-crime efforts, according to a press release from LPD. It is meant to “send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.”
The event will include music, entertainment, food, games and displays.
The event will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Martin Luther King Center is located at 309 Cora St. in Lafayette.
