BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) – Police have arrested a man that was accused of hiding a weapon tied to a 2016 murder.

According to police, 24-year-old Broderick Gibson, of Baton Rouge, was arrested on Sunday, April 22. Gibson had a warrant out for his arrest for nearly two years, connecting him to a man accused of killing Raymond Bailey in 2016.

On July 26, 2016, officials say Dmarcus Young shot Bailey multiple times. Bailey died at a hospital two days later and Young was charged with second-degree murder. According to arrest records, Young gave Gibson the murder weapon, and investigators believe Gibson got rid of the gun.

A warrant was issued for Gibson’s arrest in December of 2016.

Gibson was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with obstruction of justice, accessory after the fact, and principal to second-degree murder.
