LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) – A 20-year-old Lafayette man accused of driving drunk in a January fatal crash that killed 49-year-old Brian Nolan has been booked with vehicular homicide.

The Advocate reports police arrested 20-year-old Federico Morales Wednesday.

Morales is also accused of driving without a license and running a red light in the Jan. 13 crash.

Police say the three children riding with Nolan were not injured, but Nolan was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Morales is scheduled for arraignment on May 19.

Jail officials couldn’t provide the name of a defense attorney to comment on the charges
