LAKE ARTHUR, La. (KLFY) – Residents in the Jefferson Davis Parish town of Lake Arthur are currently under a mandatory evacuation order from now until 4 p.m. Monday.
Chief Deputy Christopher Ivey said all living in the city limits are required to evacuate. Those caught driving or walking around on Monday will be questioned and/or arrested.
No curfew will be in place Sunday night, to allow residents to leave the area.
Law enforcement officials expect the Mermentau River to crest Tuesday, which would flood the town.
