A New Iberia man was arrested after a six-hour long standoff on Tuesday.
Iberia Parish sheriff’s officers responded to the 100 block of Oak Street in New Iberia after 4 pm. Authorities say Scot Segura (42) had been fighting with his father outside their home. Deputies say Segura ran back into the home, possibly armed with a handgun. Deputies, swat team members, and crisis negotiators tried to talk him out of the house. Segura finally came out of the home just before 10 pm and was taken into custody.
He was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and resisting arrest by force or violence.
