- Former President George H.W Bush will lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda in Washington D.C. beginning this evening. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at Washington’s National Cathedral.
- People in the Midwest are still cleaning up this morning after a string of tornadoes over the weekend. At least a hundred homes were damaged, and more than 20 people were injured.
- The fourth suspect wanted in connection with illegal activity in St. Martin Parish has been captured. Drew Chassion was arrested and charged with one count of production of child pornography and one count of third degree rape.
- Governor John Bel Edwards is urging Louisiana residents to make donations to their local food banks during the holiday period because supplies are low.
- Federal Judge Patricia Minaldi, was found dead in her Lake Charles home Saturday. She retired from the bench in Louisiana last year amid struggles with alcoholism. She was 60 years old.
- Santa lead the Sonic Christmas Parade, marching bands and floats followed close behind to kick off the Christmas Spirit.
