NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk Police stopped traffic Wednesday morning to help an elderly woman cross a busy intersection on West Little Creek Road near Ward’s Corner.

The woman had started crossing the busy intersection before police stepped in to give her a hand.

Officers in the area stopped traffic because they realized that the woman was not going to be able to cross the intersection before the light changed.

The officers turned on their lights before one of them stopped the traffic, while the other went to help the elderly woman.

WAVY viewer Katie Chandler Rozelle was stopped in traffic and snapped a picture of the officers’ kind actions, which has already been shared hundreds of times on Facebook.
