An Oklahoma manslaughter suspect was arrested Monday here in Lafayette.

Donovan Dixon (40) has been on the run since last August. Police in Oklahoma found the body of Chester Morris III in a bathtub. Authorities believe Morris’ death was the result of a night of partying gone wrong. They say Dixon and two others were using heroin with Morris, when Morris became unresponsive. No one called for help for nearly 12 hours after they discovered Morris was dead.

When Lafayette City Marshals got a tip that Dixon was in the area, undercover officers monitored his movements for hours before making the arrest. Officers say they found two weapons in Dixon’s possession.

Lafayette City Marshals give no word yet on when he will be extradited to Oklahoma.
