An Opelousas Police officer has been placed on administrative leave after a complaint involving a juvenile was filed against him with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Police spokesperson Cory Leger says Sgt. Baxter Iford was placed on leave because Iford is currently under investigation.

It is the Opelousas Police Department’s policy to place an officer on leave when they are personally involved in an investigation.
