UPDATE:

Lafayette, LA – On February 13, 2015, at approximately 1:45 am, Lafayette Police responded to the westbound lane of I-10 near Ambassador Caffery exit regarding a crash involving a pedestrian.

According to the operator of the vehicle, she was traveling west on I-10 when she struck the victim’s body lying in the roadway.

Investigators indicated that the victim, 18 year old Grant Ingram was crossing I-10 for unknown reasons when he was struck by multiple vehicles. The victim may have been struck by other vehicles prior to the person who contacted police.

Investigators are encouraging anyone who may have witness the crash to call Lafayette Police at 337-291-8600.


Lafayette Police have confirmed that one person is dead after being struck by multiple vehicles early Friday morning.

At 1:45 am this morning, Lafayette Police responded to I-10 westbound near the Ambassador Caffery exit regarding a crash involving a pedestrian.

According to investigators, a pedestrian entered the westbound lane of I-10 and was struck by multiple vehicles. The male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no injuries reported from any of the occupants in the vehicles.
The Lafayette Police Department currently has the westbound lane of I-10 shutdown between North University and Ambassador Caffery Parkway.  Traffic is being diverted to West Willow Street.
