A 37-year-old Rayne man is dead after he slipped into a bayou while fishing on Tuesday afternoon.

Christopher Bouillion (37) of Rayne frequently fished at a bridge located near the intersection of White Oak Hwy. and Fleur de Lis Lane. Bouillion left his home shortly before 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday to go fishing and never returned.

Upon arrival on scene deputies located the victim’s vehicle near the bridge.  A search of the area was conducted and Bouillion’s body was located in the water. Investigators believe that Bouillion got tangled in the line and felling into the water causing him to drown.
