Whether you want to go on a European backpacking adventure, relax on the beach or just get out of town for a few days, these sites and apps offer the best travel deals that will help you save money and give you one less excuse to not go on that summer vacation you so totally deserve.
Luxury On A Budget:
- JetSetter– It’s not exactly cheap, but they only list packages for really nice resorts and destinations so you know you’re getting the most bang for your buck.
Last Minute:
- Hotel Tonight– Love this app! If you’re a spontaneous traveler or if you have champagne taste on a beer budget, Hotel Tonight is your new best friend. Sometimes you can book some of the most luxurious hotels for half the price.
- Flight Tonight– For all the procrastinators and all the people who love to travel, but hate to plan.
Group Travel:
- Flight With Friends– It helps you find and book flights with a large group of people, which comes in handy when you’re traveling for a wedding or a group vacation.
Hotel Deals
- Booking.com: A great aggregator that lets you filter the results based on the kind of hotel you want and the price.
- AirBnB: If you’re traveling with a few people, instead of getting separate hotel rooms sharing an apt/house on AirBnb is always a cheaper option. If you’re traveling alone or with only one other person, I’ve noticed that it’s not always a better deal than a hotel. However, if you’re traveling somewhere and you want to immerse yourself in the culture of the area, staying in a local’s home is as good as it gets.
- Roomer: This site seriously has some of the best deals you’ll ever come across. It’s a site that allows someone who had to cancel their hotel reservation to list their booking so they can cut some of the losses from a hotel cancellation fee. A serious win-win for travelers.
Cheap Flights
- On The Fly: You can’t book a flight directly from the app, but it tells you which airlines have the cheapest rates and links you directly to their site.
- CheapAir: I’ve always found the best prices when I used this site. Even better than Kayak, but not as pretty.
- Skyscanner: Another great aggregator when you’re looking for the best deal.
- Hopper: The app lets you know when the best time to travel to your particular destination. It lets you look at a month’s worth of prices, so if your travel dates are flexible, this app is definitely a must-have.
