BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — LSU police have arrested a 19-year-old Lafayette man the alleged rape of a woman in her dorm room over the weekend.
The Advocate reports Victor Silva was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison Wednesday on one count of forcible rape.
The victim told police she was at an LSU-area bar with Silva Friday evening.
According to the arrest warrant, the victim said they may have had sex, but she did not remember what happened because she was drunk.
Police say the victim went to a hospital for a sexual assault exam.
Silva, a student at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, posted a $25,000 bond and was released early Friday.
Jail officials couldn’t provide the name of a defense attorney to comment on the charges.
