UPDATE (April 20, 2016): Captain John Babin said in a news release that Lafayette Parish deputies have located Tevoinia Guidry and she is now safe with her family.


ORIGINAL (April 18, 2016): Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a runaway teen who they believe is in danger.

Captain John Babin said Tevonia Guidry, 16, left her home in the Youngsville area at 6 a.m. Saturday morning and has not been heard from since.

Investigators believe she is in the New Iberia area with a boyfriend she recently met on social media. Authorities also think she could still be in the Lafayette area.

Guidry is described as a “black female, with brown hair and brown eyes.” She is approximately 5’2″ and weighs about 102 lbs.

Anyone who sees Tevonia Guidry or has information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office at 337-236-5895.
