UPDATE: Nicholas Beckford has been found and is safe, according to Captain John Babin who issued a news release around 4:12 p.m.

Detectives with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office are currently looking for Nicholas Beckford, 17, who was reported missing yesterday by his mother.

Captain John Babin said one of Beckford’s friends saw him skateboarding around noon yesterday in downtown Lafayette.

Beckford’s mother has not heard from him since Friday.

He was last seen wearing a grey shirt and black pants.
