Lafayette, LA – Traffic Investigators with the Lafayette Police Department have identified the victim as Brian Nolan (49) of Lafayette.  Nolan was traveling west on Dulles Drive when his vehicle was struck broadside as he drove through its intersection with Ambassador Caffery Parkway.  The vehicle which collided with Nolan’s Chevrolet Suburban was a Ford Expedition traveling north on Ambassador Caffery Parkway.  The operator of the Ford, Federico Morales (24) of Lafayette, was arrested and charged with Vehicular Homicide, OWI Child Endangerment, Failure to Secure a Driver’s License and Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device.  Morales’ vehicle was occupied by three children at the time of the crash. None of the children were injured in the crash.  The crash remains under investigation.


One man is dead after two-vehicle wreck in Lafayette on Tuesday night

According to traffic investigators, a Ford Expedition was traveling north on Ambassador Caffery Pkwy around 6:30 PM and collided with a Chevrolet Suburban traveling west on Dulles Drive.  The driver of the Chevrolet, a 49 year old male, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Ford, Federico Morales (24) of Lafayette, was arrested and charged with Vehicular Homicide, OWI 1st Offense and Failure to Secure a Driver’s License.

The crash remains under investigation.
