LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) – A 21-year-old Vinton man has been booked with second-degree murder in the shooting death of a Starks man.

Zachary A. Bench, also faces charges of armed robbery and obstruction of justice the death of 33-year-old Jody L. Barlow. Deputies found Barlow’s body with multiple gunshot wounds Aug. 27 in a wooded area off Old River Road in Starks close to the Calcasieu and Beauregard parish lines.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso says the motive is likely robbery-related.

Mancuso says there will likely be additional arrests.

Judge David Ritchie set Bench’s bond at $1.8 million.
