YOUNGSVILLE, La. (KLFY)— The City of Youngsville to hold town hall meeting to provide information on individual FEMA assistance.
According to a news release, the meeting will take place September 14 at 6 p.m. at the Ernest Gallet Elementary School cafeteria. The school is located at 2901 E. Milton Avenue, Youngsville.
Mayor Ken Ritter said the purpose of the meeting is to provide the needed assistance to residents and businesses that were affected by the flood event of August 12.
At the meeting there will be representatives from the FEMA Disaster Survivor Assistance, the National Flood Insurance Program, Small Business Administration, the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and FEMA Mitigation, according to officials.
The news release also stated that at the meeting, residents will be able to get help with the following:
Sign up for FEMA assistance
- Check on your FEMA claim
- If denied, get assistance to find out why
- Meet with the National Flood Insurance Program
- Meet with the Small Business Administration and fill out application
- Get information on how to mitigate future damage
The Mayor said he requested this meeting to help residents to get the information they need to continue with their recovery. Everyone that had damage due to the flooding is encouraged to attend.
