LAFAYETTE, La. (Claire Taylor/The Advertiser)- Updated Dec. 28: Judge David Smith has scheduled a sentencing date for suspended Lafayette City Marshal Brian Pope, who was found guilty on four felony charges in October.
Pope is scheduled to appear in 15th Judicial District Court in Lafayette at 9 a.m. Feb. 6, according to the court schedule, the Advertiser reported.
It’s been nearly three months since a jury convicted Lafayette City Marshal Brian Popeon four felony charges of perjury and malfeasance in office.
On Dec. 5, Pope was indicted on 17 separate counts of malfeasance in office.
